background

during the apollo program nasa wanted
to use the hardware that was made for the program
to have other projects
thus the apollo applications program was created
the program had many ideas
like base on the moon landing one mars flyby of venus
unfortunatly most of the ideas
never left the drawing board accept one
this was skylab

the station itself

skylab was built using a spare 3rd stage
of a saturn 5
originally the station was supposed to be
a wet workshop this is the reason
why the floor is made of these metal bars
the station had 2 floors
one for storage and science and one for
lving eating showering ect...
